crowdEngage overview
crowdEngage sits between your ticketing system and your customer's phone. It turns a booking into a mobile ticket, and gives you a direct line to every ticket holder.. This page is will link you to each of the main stages in the process
What does crowdEngage do?
- Messaging — automated SMS and email built around each performance: pre-show reminders, "doors in two hours," post-show surveys, cancellations. You build a message once and it sends to the right people at the right time relative to curtain up. → How flows work in crowdEngage
- Mobile Ticket — the digital ticket customers receive by text. It carries their QR code to get in, plus everything else they need for the visit: directions, FAQs, pre-orders, ticket sharing, apple/google wallet, digital membership. → The mobile ticket explained
- Pre-order Sales — food, drink and merch ordered ahead and collected without the queue. Runs off your till if it's integrated, or a manual set up if it isn't. → How pre-orders work
- Templating — how you make all of the above personal: the customer's name, their show, their start time, filled in automatically for every message. → Templating basics
On top of those sit the features that make the ticket earn its keep — donations, digital memberships, seat upgrades, live chat, barcode suppression — each covered in the Mobile Ticket section.
How it connects- Your ticketing system feeds it. crowdEngage reads bookings, customer details, tags and seating from your ticketing system (Spektrix, Tessitura and others), so messages and tickets are always accurate for that customer and that performance. What's available can vary by system — a few features are still limited to certain platforms, and those are flagged in the relevant articles.
- Your EPOS system helps build menus. crowdEngage integrates with many epos systems so we call pull through your menu items with ease and send orders back to the till system to process the orders easily.
- Payments run through Stripe. One connected processor covers pre-orders, donations and seat upgrades, each as its own line item. → Connect a payment processor
Stripe is our customer's preferred method but we also integrate with other payment processors.
If you're new to crowdEngage, read the four concept articles above in order — flows, the mobile ticket, pre-orders, templating. Twenty minutes, and the rest of this knowledge base is just detail on top of a model you'll already have. Stuck on a term? → Glossary
