Connecting Encore Pro to Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and other AI assistants

Let your AI assistant work with your ticketing and marketing data, with your permissions and nothing more.

What this does

Running a report and uploading it to an AI chat takes time, and the numbers are old by the time you've done it. Connect your AI assistant to Encore Pro and it can look things up itself.

Once it's connected, ask in plain language. Your assistant works out that your question is about ticketing, finds the information in Encore Pro, and answers. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and other assistants that support the connection.

The connection uses MCP, a standard that most AI tools support. Each tool calls it something different. In Claude, it's a Connector. In ChatGPT, it's a type of Plugin.

What your assistant can do

Shows

  • View and edit show details.
  • Manage key dates, like presales and on-sales.

Sales

  • Break down ticket sales.
  • Track your advance over time.
  • See which other shows your customers also bought.

Campaigns

  • Check engagement and the sales each campaign drove.
  • Create and edit drafts. It never sends anything.

Audiences

  • Check how many customers an audience would reach before you use it.

Feedback

  • Pass feature requests to the Encore Pro team.

What that looks like

Ask "How's Romeo and Juliet doing?" and your assistant pulls the figures and gives you the picture. Ask for a chart of your advance, and it builds one from live data.

It can update Encore Pro too. Give it the marketing plan for a production and ask it to create the key dates. It adds them to the show, and they appear in Encore Pro as normal, including plotted on the show's charts. Five key dates take a minute instead of a manual entry session.

It's also useful for history. Collecting key dates for past productions is tedious. Point your assistant at your back catalogue and ask it to research when you announced, promoted, and put each show on sale, using your social posts and the blog on your website. It fills in the key dates, and your historic charts become useful straight away.

Safety and control

It's off until you turn it on. The connection is switched off for your Encore Pro account by default. It stays off until someone with settings access turns it on.

It can't see customer personal information. Your assistant gets figures and anonymized data, never customer details.

Its access matches yours, and follows you. Your assistant can see what you can see in Encore Pro, and no more. If you're restricted to one show, that's all it can see. If you're removed from Encore Pro, your AI access ends with it.

You choose which AI accounts can connect. Encore Pro can limit the connection to approved AI accounts. If your organization has a team account with Claude, for example, you can make sure only that account connects, and not anyone's personal account.

You approve what it does. Your assistant asks before it takes certain actions. You approve each tool case by case.

  • Tools that only read information, like getting sales figures, are ones you might approve once and leave.
  • Tools that change something ask you first. Click the small box on the request to see exactly what your assistant is trying to do.
  • When you approve a tool, you can choose to allow it every time. Creating key dates and updating key dates are separate permissions, so approving one doesn't approve the other.

Approval happens in your AI assistant, not in Encore Pro, so the prompts look a little different depending on which assistant you use.

It never sends a campaign. Your assistant can create and edit drafts. Sending is always yours.

Everything is recorded. Encore Pro keeps a record of every tool your assistant calls, and whether it worked. If you ever need to check what happened, the trail is there.

Turning it on

Someone with settings access switches the connection on for your organization. It's off by default.

How this fits with SAM

You can still use SAM inside Encore Pro. The connection is for working with your own AI outside it, and the two suit different jobs.

Say you're building a presentation in Claude. Connect Encore Pro and Claude can pull in the right figures. Or you're mid-analysis in your own AI, with your own notes and other tools, and you want live ticketing data alongside them.

One difference to know: an outside AI doesn't come with SAM's built-in understanding of how to read ticket sales. If you want the same quality of answer, give your assistant context about your venue and how you report. You may well have given it things SAM doesn't have.
